PROJECT DIGNITY FOR ALL – OUTREACH # 13

PROJECT DIGNITY FOR ALL – OUTREACH # 13

We woke up early on Saturday to a lovely, sunny morning. It was to be perfect weather for our 13th outreach. As usual, we sorted through, organized and packed up the car full of mostly men’s clothing, boxers, socks, and a few pairs of shoes. We also packed the toiletries, the urn full of coffee, etc. The fruit we brought for our last outreach was so appreciated, that we decided to bring some again this time. We again packed a small cooler full of 38 individual portions of fruit. This time they contained cut up watermelon, apple wedges, and grapes.

We left for downtown at 10:45 AM and arrived in front of the Salvation Army shortly after 11:00 AM. Once we set up the table to serve the coffee and fruit, we had a steady flow of men coming to enjoy a little healthy treat and a freshly brewed cup of coffee with real cream or milk and sugar, of course! Once we put out the selection of clothing we had brought along, many of the fellows quickly started going through and selecting some items that they liked. In no time at all, almost all of the clothing was gone. After a few hours spent chatting and laughing with the guys, we packed up the car and headed back home. Project Dignity’s Outreach # 13 was a big success! We drove home feeling happy and grateful that we have been able to do this every two weeks without fail because of all the help we are getting from all of you through your generous donations! Thank you!

As always, we have a great need for men’s clothing that is clean, gently used, and in season, as well as boxers and socks. We are in desperate need of men’s shoes in all sizes. Runners are especially appreciated, as they are usually the most comfortable! Whatever we collect in the next two weeks, we will be handing out at our next outreach (#14), planned for Saturday, September 7, 2019. We are always willing to come to any destination to pick up donations directly. Just email or message us (F.B.) to arrange a pick-up.

We thank each and every one of you for any and all donations. Without all of you, we couldn’t do what we do!
